A home away from home

Celebrate an explorer lifestyle with luxury brand Coqui Coqui and H&M HOME.

This summer, H&M HOME teams up with the renowned fragrance brand and bohemian boutique hotel concept Coqui Coqui for a collection of elevated home decor objects. The vision of the collaboration is to extend an invitation to the magical world of Coqui Coqui and to celebrate the explorer lifestyle that runs through the brand’s DNA.

To the founders of Coqui Coqui, Nicolas Malleville and his wife Francesca Bonato, pictured here together with Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, Head of Design & Creative at H&M HOME, luxury is not about material wealth — it’s about connecting with nature and with the roots of ancestral artisanal techniques. The couple met on the sandy beaches of Tulum in the early ’00s. Two decades later, the family shares their time between Yucatán in Mexico, Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Riviera dei Fiori in France and Italy, places that all host the magical hideaways that Coqui Coqui has become famous for.

The story of Coqui Coqui begins with friends and family visiting the Malleville-Bonato residence in the Yucatán. One guest room soon became two, then three. The couple loved inviting and hosting people, showing them the peninsula and all its beautiful surroundings and traditions, making them feel at home.

Today, Coqui Coqui runs five exclusive residences, four in Mexico and one in French Polynesia, with more to come.

“Our life is built around the essence of a home away from home. As we choose to be explorers, we live our lives collecting memories, piecing them together and making them into a home”, says Francesca Bonato.

Together with H&M HOME, Malleville and Bonato have created a collection of interior details that capture that essence — objects that make you feel at home, no matter how far you travel.

Fragrances are at the core of Coqui Coqui — and the core of the collaboration, where two fragrances have been created exclusively for the collection: Vétyvers du Pacifique and Flores de Yucatán.

“Creating a scent is the ultimate sensory experience. The botanical bouquets of Vétyvers du Pacifique and Flores de Yucatán are based on aromas from flowers, fruits, woods, herbs and roots that you can see, smell and taste in the two motherlands of Coqui Coqui: The Mexican Yucatán and the Iles de la Societé in French Polynesia”, says Nicolas Malleville.

The Coqui Coqui x H&M HOME collection will be available in selected stores and on hm.com/home in selected markets from 8 August.
