Transport
We’re working towards bringing our products to you with the least possible impact.
Transport only stands for about 2-3% of all our emissions, but it’s still something we can improve. To transport our products in the most sustainable way we can, we’ve joined two interesting collaborations and coalitions.
Maersk is one of the biggest transport companies in the world and they’ve invented something called the carbon neutral ocean product. It’s a biofuel-blend (for instance from wasted cooking oil) that can replace fossil fuel and reduce emissions from ocean shipping. As we rely heavily on sea transport, this is very exciting news.
In The Pathways Coalition, we’ve joined forces with Scania, E.ON and Siemens to work towards fossil-free commercial transport by 2050. Together, we’ve published a report that concludes that this is possible! The report will help us decrease our own carbon emissions and, hopefully, influence politicians and other businesses to take action. Some of the solutions to get there are smarter logistics, electrification of vehicles and biofuels. Just by improving routing and load management, CO2 emissions from road transport can be reduced by 20%.
